Flexible Learning

The program is arranged in a block format and incorporate various learning strategies: group discussions, case methods, lectures, site visit, presentations, internship and research. Students are challenged to go beyond the theoretical grounds to practical applications in the workplace. Recognizing the individual needs of today’s students, we have assembled these courses in flexible learning formats, as described below.

Regular-intensive track :

This track takes form as a 2-month residency course in each semester for the total period of three semesters, designed for executives with limited possibility for an extensive leave of absence. The first two semesters is dedicated for completing the pre-course and six learning blocks. While the third semester is reserved for a final thesis. Advanced interactive technology is utilized to support interactions between students and faculty members during internships and field research.

Regular-part time track :

Prospective students for this learning track are those currently holding strategic positions in hospitals located nearby the campus. This track takes form as a week-end class (Friday and Saturday) for the period of four semesters (24 months) academic program. Similar to the regular-intensive track, the first two semesters are devoted for completing all required courses, followed by research and thesis writing.

Regular-part time track in Jakarta :

Initiated since year 1996 through a collaboration with the Ministry of Health, this track is offered in Jakarta, dedicated for hospital management practitioners in Jakarta and its surrounding areas and future managers. The learning format takes form as a week-end class on Friday and Saturday, with additional one-week residency in Jogjakarta campus in the beginning of each semester. The program is 24 months duration, divided into all required courses for the first year followed by research and thesis writing in the second year.

Regular with IT enhancement :

This scheme accommodates those who seek to undergo a master program without taking a considerable time to be away from their work. Those with high structural positions or work in remote hospitals distant from educational institutions are particularly suitable for this track. Campus residency is required for a period of 3-4 weeks per semester, with an exception of additional 2 weeks for the first semester. IT enhancement is intensively applied during the off-campus period, requiring students to have adequate IT skills, easy access to internet and high self-discipline. The overall program takes 24 months with the same structure as the part-time learning track.

Executive Development Programs

This mode of study takes form as short, intensive courses on specialized topics referred to as Executive Development Programs (EDP). These courses provide effective and efficient learning opportunities, enabling participants to refresh their skills, update them about the latest theories, innovative solutions and cutting edge tools in hospital management. These programs have attracted executives and professionals from public and private hospitals in Indonesia. Courses offered in EDP may also be similar topics (or learning blocks) offered in the current curriculum. In this case, the courses are accredited by the Graduate Program in Public Health and may be accummulated leading to a master degree.
