Services and support

Information Support

The Program made available to students a network of information facilities consisting of libraries and computer lab. These facilities support student learning and research within the program. Close liason between students and the facility staff is maintained to ensure that all needs regarding information is catered for. At the beginning of each academic year, library and computer staff will meet students to outline services and strengthen information retrieval skills. A comprehensive guide is available to aid student in utilization. These facilities are further described in the following section.

Library
We strongly encourage students to take advantage of the library facilities available. These facilities include the University Library, The Postgraduate library, The Medical library, and the special collection library hosted within different concentrations. These libraries contain vast collections of books and periodicals on all subjects related to public health sciences. There are convenient reading areas in all libraries, and each library offers borrowing facility to our students. The main libraries provide the use of audio-visual materials, CD-ROM databases and photocopiers. These libraries also collaborate with other university libraries in Indonesia and overseas to complement existing collection.

Computer Lab
Students are also encouraged to use the computer lab, which is located at the 3rd floor of the Department of Public Health building. The lab provides a Local Area Network (LAN) of 20 workstations running on Windows'98 platform with internet access. These features in addition to a range of cutting edge software facilitate students in carrying out their learning tasks. The lab is fully air-conditioned and open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. for lecture purposes, short courses, and personal student use.

Café Medica
This refectory caters our students with a variety of Indonesian dishes prepared hygienically for a reasonable price. Built in conjunction to our main building, it also serves as a social axis, bringing together staff and students in a casual environment in between class. Café Medica opens daily until late afternoon, accommodating up to 50 seats at the same time. Seminar and workshop lunches are also frequently hosted in this eatery.

Sport and Entertainment

Recreational needs are also accommodated within the program. Sport facilities are a rich resource at our campus. Located within walking distances, the athletics venues include a football stadium with a 400 meter running track, tennis court, softball field, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, wall climbing mock-up, fitness center and an olympic size swimming pool. For those who prefer less vigorous activities, theatrical arts and concerts catering a wide range of musical tastes are frequently held at the University Auditorium. The Medical Auditorium notably hosts international musician performances bimonthly in collaboration with the Dutch Cultural Center.
